Fine compositions that go to the heart, written such a long time ago...

LIKA LIKA GOING TO THE MONASTERY

This piece of music was also written by dear friend Georgios T. Anamateros alias Anamateur.

As with most of Anamateur's songs, even this instrumental tune has its origins in real circumstances, which inspired him to write it.
We recorded a version, in which I was the "whistler" of the melody.

IT WILL BE GREAT

This song was written by dear friend Georgios T. Anamateros alias Anamateur, as he is known in the jazz scene.

He has written many other songs, a great number of them embedded in his musicals. The first musical, called "One Doubt Arose in the Mind of a Noble Vigilante" was performed in small theatres in Athens and in its first, more minimalistic form, in Lisbon.

BLACK & BLUE

" (What Did I Do to Be So) Black and Blue" is a song by Fats Waller.
We recorded this song with Anamateur (alias Georgios T. Anamateros) at "Athensmusic Studioworks" in October 2014. Its lyrics were written by Harry Brooks and Andy Razaf.

It was introduced in the musical "Hot Chocolates" by Edith Wilson.

PLEASE SHOOT YOUR HUSBAND

Many years ago, a good friend gave me a CD with songs by Austrian cabarettist and composer Georg Kreisler.

Back in the 1940s, U.S. record companies had rejected his songs as "Un-American", especially the ones with titles such as "Please Shoot Your Husband", which was finally released decades after it was written in 1947.

In May 2016 I joined dear friends Elisavet Mitsou (vocals and guitar), Haris Pantazis (bass) and Giorgos Koutsikoulis (guitar) at "Akrovatis" bar in the district of Pangrati, Athens.
In our weekly jam session we were joined by fellow musicians.
